Being beautiful doesn’t make you happy,
But being happy does make you beautiful.
Strive for your inner life,
What you know and can feel as truth.
Be kind to yourself too
ensure your criticism is deserved
Don’t just pile on complaints
Stop giving up on things.
That’s my criticism and it’s accurate.
Because amongst those things is myself
And I really want to stop giving up on her.
So I do.
For the sake of this poem.
